Oh, I see - no problem, luckily it was an eye pleasant thing to explore too, so in the end I couldn't help it, not to mention I don't like loose ends. I initially thought that the explanation earlier regarding cross multiplication was enough for the peak case and was dissapointed you didn't at least try to implement it as it was just a basic formula, but afterwards I realized the peak case wasn't really answered, hence the result. I'm pretty sure I've already tackled this somewhere else in my codes, but was too lazy to look for that and just started over fresh, given how simple and short was your original example.
